Explica conceptos complejos de manera f\u00e1cil y a la vez po\u00e9tica e incluso cuando toca temas manidos siempre aporta valor.<\/p><p class=\"p1\">Ty es alumno de <a href=\"https:\/\/www.richardfreemanyoga.com\/\">Richard Freeman y Mary Tailor<\/a> y al igual que ellos entiende el yoga como una pr\u00e1ctica contemplativa. Adem\u00e1s, tiene un doctorado en filosof\u00eda y quiz\u00e1s por ello presenta la teor\u00eda de yoga y mitolog\u00eda de una manera \u00fanica e inconfundible.<\/p><p class=\"p1\">Me gustar\u00eda compartir con vosotros una pizca de su enfoque y sabidur\u00eda as\u00ed que os dejo la transcripci\u00f3n de una charla que tuve con \u00e9l mientras desayun\u00e1bamos. Espero que la disfrut\u00e9is.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><h2>La entrevista a Ty Landrum<\/h2><h3>Pranayama<\/h3><p class=\"p1\">P: En uno de los talleres has definido el <b><i>pranayama como un veh\u00edculo hacia la conciencia pura. <\/i><\/b>\u00bfPodr\u00edas por favor aclarar este concepto?<\/p><p class=\"p1\">R: Pranayama es la t\u00e9cnica que nos ayuda a mantener las fuerzas expansivas y contractivas (prana y apana) en equilibrio y eso nos lleva a suspender el h\u00e1bito de nuestra mente de narrar constantemente todo lo que ocurre a nuestro alrededor. Pranayama nos saca de la mente pensante y es entonces cuando experimentamos la sensaci\u00f3n de espacio. Esto ensalza toda cualidad presente de nuestra consciencia, que no siempre experimentamos porque estamos sumergidos en la construcci\u00f3n de nuestros pensamientos.<\/p><p class=\"p1\">Esto no es algo esot\u00e9rico ni turbio, es algo que siempre est\u00e1 presente en nosotros solo que normalmente estamos demasiado distra\u00eddos por nuestra mente como para percibirlo.<\/p><p class=\"p1\">Pranayama tan solo te devuelve a un estado de calma donde puedes experimentarlo.<\/p><h3>Emociones durante la pr\u00e1ctica<\/h3><p class=\"p1\">P: Nos hablaste de la importancia de abrazar cualquier emoci\u00f3n o sentimiento que aparece durante la pr\u00e1ctica. Pero al mismo tiempo nos advertiste que identificarse con las emociones iguala encarnarlas. \u00bfCu\u00e1l es entonces la manera de vivir nuestras emociones sin identificarse con ellas?<\/p><p class=\"p1\">R: La pr\u00e1ctica de yoga te ense\u00f1a a hacer esto. Todas estas pr\u00e1cticas (asana, pranayama) nos invitan a encontrar el balance entre las fuerzas opuestas de expansi\u00f3n y contracci\u00f3n. Y cuando estas energ\u00edas encuentran el equilibrio se genera el espacio. Y es justo en este espacio donde uno puede permitir que una emoci\u00f3n, la expresi\u00f3n de una corriente creativa, se manifieste en su plenitud sin que uno se aferre a ella ni la rechace.<\/p><p class=\"p1\"><a href=\"http:\/\/yuliayogi.com\/en\/filosofia-yoga\/\">Prana y apana<\/a> se convierten en un aferrarse y un retroceder (un deseo y una aversi\u00f3n) cuando est\u00e1n en desequilibrio. Ver\u00e1s, prana es la fuerza que acoge las cosas en el cuerpo y apana es la fuerza que las empuja fuera. C\u00f3mo el deseo y la aversi\u00f3n.<\/p><p class=\"p1\">Y solo cuando estas fuerzas est\u00e1n en equilibrio y nacen simult\u00e1neamente las cosas empiezan a fluir. Ya no te aferras a nada sino simplemente permites que entre y no echas nada fuera, sino simplemente lo dejas ir. As\u00ed cualquier cosa que surge, fluye libremente.<\/p><p class=\"p1\">Y este es el modo en el que uno puede experimentar la reactivaci\u00f3n de pensamientos, sentimientos y memorias en su plenitud, sin que uno se vea atrapado en una historia donde se identifique como protagonista, cosa que provoca que uno defina su relaci\u00f3n con lo que est\u00e1 sucediendo de una u otra forma. Y esto es precisamente lo que no permite que la energ\u00eda sea revelada y soltada para retornar al cuerpo sutil.<\/p><h3>Cantos y definici\u00f3n de un buen profesor de yoga<\/h3><p class=\"p1\">P: Durante las dos semanas del curso todos los d\u00edas ten\u00edamos sesiones de canto. \u00bfPor qu\u00e9 lo consideras una pr\u00e1ctica imprescindible?<\/p><p class=\"p1\">R: Cantar te endulza y te conecta con el centro de comunicaci\u00f3n. Adem\u00e1s crea un atm\u00f3sfera muy especial.<\/p><p class=\"p1\">P: \u00bfQu\u00e9 define a un buen profesor de yoga?<\/p><p class=\"p1\">R: Es alguien que puede dejar de lado su ego y ser un recipiente vac\u00edo. Alguien que no tiene sentido jer\u00e1rquico y no tiene una agenda con la gente a la que est\u00e1 asistiendo, que se ve a s\u00ed mismo como un asistente y como un soporte para cierto tipo de experiencia.<\/p><h3>Sobre Ashtanga Yoga<\/h3><p class=\"p1\">P: \u00bfConsideras que <a href=\"https:\/\/yuliayogi.com\/en\/diferentes-estilos-de-yoga\/\">Ashtanga yoga<\/a> es un estilo apto para todos?<\/p><p class=\"p1\">R: Desde luego el m\u00e9todo tiene gran capacidad de adaptaci\u00f3n. Puede ser para algunas personas en todas las etapas de su vida independientemente de sus habilidades f\u00edsicas. \u00bfSi es para todo el mundo? No creo que a todo el mundo le guste. Y me imagino que entender\u00e1s el porqu\u00e9. (Sonr\u00ede)<\/p><p class=\"p1\">Para practicar Ashtanga has de tener un cierto grado de apertura mental, de curiosidad y de coraje para realmente <span class=\"s1\">enfrentarte<\/span> a ti mismo, y no siempre estamos en este sitio, no todo el mundo est\u00e1 en este sitio. Quiero creer que todo el mundo en alg\u00fan momento de sus vidas lo est\u00e1, pero desde luego no estamos \u201call\u00ed\u201d en todo momento.<\/p><p class=\"p1\">Pero si tienes esta curiosidad y este coraje, realmente da igual en que forma f\u00edsica est\u00e9s ya que la pr\u00e1ctica puede ser adaptable en un n\u00famero infinito de maneras; tanto para las personas con habilidades f\u00edsicas restringidas, como aquellas con habilidades extraordinarias, ya que la pr\u00e1ctica tiene que ser adaptada para ellos tambi\u00e9n.<\/p><h4>Para m\u00e1s informaci\u00f3n<\/h4><p class=\"p1\">Del 3 al 5 de abril Ty Landrum estar\u00e1 en Madrid.<\/p><p class=\"p1\">En junio pod\u00e9is uniros a \u00e9l en un <a href=\"https:\/\/www.balearicretreats.com\/ashtanga-intensive-course-with-ty-landrum-june-13-20-2020\/\">intensivo de dos semanas<\/a> organizando por Balearic Retreats.<\/p><p class=\"p1\">\u00a1No os lo perd\u00e1is!<\/p><h2>\u00a0<\/h2><p class=\"p1\">Tambi\u00e9n os dejo la transcripci\u00f3n de la charla original con Ty Landrum en ingl\u00e9s:<\/p><h2>Conversation with Ty Landrum<\/h2><h3>Pranayama<\/h3><p id=\"m_-2341271257371790916docs-internal-guid-961e4cf8-7fff-f9d6-be48-a626ef2efe95\" dir=\"ltr\">Q: In one of the workshops you described pranayama as a vehicle to pure consciousness. Can you throw some light on this topic?<\/p><p dir=\"ltr\">A: Pranayama is about balancing expansive and contractive forces which help to suspend your discursive habits of your mind. It takes you out of your thinking mind, and when that happens, you experience a sense of spaciousness, and that sort of underlines every present quality of your consciousness; that you don&#8217;t always experience, because your attention is so focused in on this constructions of thinking.<\/p><p dir=\"ltr\">So it is not something esoteric or obscure, but something that was always already present but you are\u00a0 usually too distracted from it by your mind.<\/p><p dir=\"ltr\">Pranayama just brings you to the sense of stillness where you can feel that.<\/p><h3>Emotions during practice<\/h3><p dir=\"ltr\">Q: You encourage us to fully experience whatever feelings and emotions that come to us during the practice.But at the same time you taught us that identifying yourself with your emotions equals embodying them. So how do you experience them fully without identification? How is that done?<\/p><p dir=\"ltr\">A: Yoga practice teaches you how to do that. All of these practices invite us to balance the opposing energies of extension and contraction in different ways. And when these energies are balanced there is that sense of openness. And it\u2019s precisely in that balance that one is able to allow an emotion, which is an expression of creative current, to fully manifest without grasping at it or pushing it away.<\/p><p dir=\"ltr\">Prana and apana become grasping and recoiling when they are unbalanced. You see, prana is what takes things into the body and apana is the force that pushes them out. Like grasping and recoiling.<\/p><p dir=\"ltr\">But what if this energies are balanced but arising simultaneously, well, than there is the flow. You are not grabbing at anything you are just allowing it to come in, you are not pushing anything out you are just allowing it to move out. So then whatever is coming is just flowing through.<\/p><p dir=\"ltr\">And it is in that mode of being when one can fully experience the reactivation of patterns of thoughts, feelings and memories, in a way that does not catch one up in a story where one starts identifying oneself as the subject or protagonist of the stories, and then one defines one&#8217;s relationship to what one is experiencing in a certain kind way and that\u2019s precisely not allowing the energy of it to unravel, to release and to return to a subtle body.<\/p><h3>Chanting and what it takes to be a good yoga teacher<\/h3><p dir=\"ltr\">Q: During our two weeks course we had chanting sessions everyday. Why do you think chanting is important in one&#8217;s practice?<\/p><p dir=\"ltr\">A: Chanting sweetens you up and connects you to your speech center at the same time.<\/p><p dir=\"ltr\">Q: What does it takes to be a good yoga teacher?<\/p><p dir=\"ltr\">A: Someone who can set himself aside and be an empty vessel. Someone who has no sense of hierarchy or who has no agenda with people he is assisting, who sees himself as an assistant and as a support for a certain kind of experience.<\/p><h3>About Ashtanga Yoga<\/h3><p dir=\"ltr\">Q: Is <a href=\"https:\/\/yuliayogi.com\/en\/diferentes-estilos-de-yoga\/\">Ashtanga yoga<\/a> for everybody?<\/p><p dir=\"ltr\">A: It is wildly adaptable. It can be for certain people at all stages of life with all kinds of abilities.<\/p><p dir=\"ltr\">Is it for everybody? I mean, I don\u2019t think it\u2019s everybody\u2019s cup of tea. And you can understand why (<span class=\"il\">Ty<\/span> smiles). To practice Ashtanga you have to have a certain openness, curiosity and certain courage to be open to really facing yourself and we are not always in that place, not everybody is in that place.
